We are located on a family farm in the Heart of Texas just outside Waco, in Mclennan County. The farm has Hog Creek running through the property. Our family has raised
traditional row crops, temporary pasture forage, cattle, hogs, chickens, horses, and now Boer Goats. I completely fell in love with Boer Goats while attending a seminar presented by John and Kathy Keblinger of The Seven A + Boers.
We started raising goats in 2002 with 4 Boer x Spanish Does and 3 bottle babies purchased from a long time friend and goat rancher. Since that beginning, our numbers have grown and we have purchased several high percentage and fullblood young does from selected breeders such as 2XL Boer Goats, Jack and Anita Mauldin, Schwartz Ranch, Rocky Springs Farm, and Blue Creek Farm to name a few.
Most of our does have color in their pedigrees or are red and white paint or solid red. We have selected these does to fulfill our goal to raise quality Boer Goats of color. Our main herd sire is a Dark Mahogany paint buck from Menger Creek Ranch and he has painted almost all his kids from the 2005 kidding season with his dark mahogany color.
We are working very diligently toward increasing the quality of our herd and keep our numbers at a manageable level. J BAR S is a small operation of 30 brood does.
